Urine Adulteration Strips (6 Marker) – 25 Strips per Pack

The Drug Testing Kits UK Urine Adulteration Strips offer a fast and easy "dip-and-read" method for detecting diluted or tampered urine samples. These strips, also known as Specimen Validity Tests (S.V.T.), provide a quick, one-step screening process to determine if a urine specimen has been altered, tampered with, or diluted. The test simultaneously checks for six key markers/parameters: Creatinine, Nitrite, Glutaraldehyde, pH, Specific Gravity, and Oxidants in human urine. The strips function through a colorimetric reaction between the chemical reagents on the test pads and the urine sample, delivering semi-quantitative results via a color comparison chart.

Detectable Adulterants (Markers/Parameters):

  • pH Level: Tests for acidic or alkaline adulterants. Normal urine pH ranges from 4.0 to 9.0. pH levels below 4.0 or above 9.0 indicate possible adulteration.
  • Specific Gravity: Checks for sample dilution. Normal specific gravity ranges from 1.003 to 1.030. Levels outside this range suggest dilution.
  • Nitrite: Detects exogenous nitrate, often added as products like “Klear.” Levels above 7.5 mg/dl are considered abnormal.
  • Glutaraldehyde: Identifies the presence of exogenous aldehydes, such as those found in "Clear Choice" or "UrinAid." Glutaraldehyde is not naturally found in urine, so its presence indicates adulteration.
  • Creatinine: Measures creatinine levels, which are generally stable and related to muscle mass. Levels below 20 mg/dl suggest specimen tampering, typically through dilution.
  • Oxidants: Detects the presence of oxidizing agents like bleach, hydrogen peroxide, and pyridinium chlorochromate.

Instructions for Use:

  1. Ensure the strips are within their expiry date.
  2. Remove one strip from the container.
  3. Dip the strip into the urine sample for approximately 2 seconds, making sure all reagent test pads are fully submerged.
  4. After 1 minute, compare the colors on the reagent pads to the provided color chart. Interpret the results for each test marker/parameter.
  5. An abnormal result for any marker suggests the sample has been manipulated, altered, or contaminated, possibly due to the use of detox or masking agents.
  6. Each container includes complete instructions, technical details, and background information to guide the testing procedure.

Note: All abnormal results should be confirmed by a laboratory for accuracy.
